IT'S 1986, AND THERE'S A PLAGUE.

Prior is from 1986, when living with AIDS was a far off prospect. He is, or has been, dying from AIDS in a time when it was called a gay plague and carriers were often treated by medical staff in hazmat suits. AZT is just beginning its first trials, but being denied to most of the people who need it. Prior's illness is still very much considered a death sentence, and he has watched many friends die before him.

Please be aware this means some of his language and description regarding having AIDS isn't the same as if he were from 2017, where huge steps in treatment have been made and living with HIV/AIDS is a (thankfully) far more possible prospect.

If you are uncomfortable talking to Prior because of any of the above, please let me know and I'll avoid your posts.

LONG DESCENDED, WELL PREPARED.

Prior's also a prophet. He's been given a fairly shitty prophecy and hears an angel's voice in his head. He has been known to be briefly possessed by angelic voices/the text of the book of prophecy he carries in him, and crazy things happen that only he can see.

So, that's fun.

How this affects your character: As he walks the border between life and death, Prior has access to the 'threshold of revelation'. This means he may occasionally see or know something about your character without being told - for example, he might know they're very sad about something, or a random fact about their relationship with their mother.

He may also occasionally show up in other people's dreams or hallucinations. If this happens, he's more likely to be able to see things via the threshold.

Both these things are most likely to occur if your character is sick, drugged, in crisis or a heightened emotional state. He's also slowly learning how to use these powers on demand. If you'd like Prior to pay a visit or know something about your character - great! Let me know. If you would not like Prior to be capable of this with your character it's highly unlikely it would happen without me checking first, but you can also let me know here!

Usual tagging times/pace: GMT. My tagging can be patchy. Sometimes I'll tag all day, sometimes I may take a day off or be a little longer responding. Please bear with me.

Backtagging: To a degree. I can be a sporadic tagger myself and understand when other people need to be, but I can lose my focus on threads that are stalled for too long. As long as it's fairly consistent we're good.

Physical Violence: 1. WHY WOULD YOU but 2. I am fine with and enjoy writing it, just bear in mind Prior's unlikely to instigate.

Mental Information: You're welcome to dip into his mind, but once you get past the WASPy gay new yorker you'll meet a wall of terrifying divine prophecy, enjoy. Prior more or less wears his heart on his sleeve so you can probably get a lot out of him without mindreading.

Physical Affection: Yes please. He'll be cautious with certain kinds of intimacy but he is craving human contact, pls provide.

IC Triggers: Oh everything, he's a mess. Loss and abandonment are the big ones.

Relationships: I like them to grow organically but Prior very much needs company of all kinds.

Preferences: Prior is gay unless you're an angel. However he's very open to female friendship and light levels of intimacy with said friends.
